Line Improvement Works - Saturday 18th NovemberA number of line improvement works will take place on Saturday 18h November and a number of routes/services will be affected. Please check our journey planner for more details. A summary of the main changes/alterations are listed below. Service arrangements Customers are advised to check our Journey Planner before travelling. Cork, Limerick and Tralee Galway and Westport Waterford Portlaoise and Kildare to Dublin Commuter services Catering First class How can Reserve a Seat? Cork, Limerick and Tralee Due to line improvement works the following service alterations will take place: Saturday 18th November Cork/ Dublin / Cork services will operate every hour in each direction. 20.45hrs Cork to Dublin Heuston service will operate with a bus transfer from Thurles to Dublin Heuston. Limerick / Dublin / Limerick services will operate every hour, connecting to / from all Dublin / Cork / Dublin services at Limerick Junction. Tralee / Dublin services will operate every two hours, connecting to / from Dublin / Cork / Dublin services at Mallow. 17:05hrs Dublin / Tralee is cancelled. Passengers should board the 17:05hrs Dublin / Cork service and change at Mallow. Please note that there will be a delay of 25 - 30 mins from Mallow to Tralee. Nenagh Line customers, please change at Ballybrophy as normal for connecting services. We advise customers to check their journey details prior to travelling. Galway and Westport Saturday 18th November Galway and Westport services will operate a full schedule as normal. We advise customers to check their journey details prior to travelling. Waterford Saturday 18th November Dublin Heuston to Waterford services will operate a full schedule as normal. We advise customers to check their journey details prior to travelling. Portlaoise and Kildare to Dublin Commuter services Saturday 18th November 21.05hrs Dublin Heuston/Portlaoise service will operate with a bus transfer from Hazelhatch to Portlaoise. 22.10hrs Dublin Heuston/Portlaoise service will operate with a bus transfer from Hazelhatch to Portlaoise. 23.10hrs Dublin Heuston/Kildare service will operate with a bus transfer from Hazelhatch to Kildare. 22.00hrs Kildare/Dublin Heuston service will operate with a bus transfer from Kildare to Hazelhatch. A train service will then operate from Hazelhatch to Dublin Heuston. 21.20hrs Portlaoise/Dublin Heuston service will operate with a bus transfer from Portlaoise to Hazelhatch. A train service will then operate from Hazelhatch to Dublin Heuston. We advise customers to check their journey details prior to travelling. Dining car and restaurant car facilities will not be available. First Class On affected services, first class facilities will not be available. How can I reserve a seat? When you purchase an Adult, Child or Student ticket on this website or through our call centre (01 83 66 222) you are given an assigned seat as part of the price. Customers who are already in possession of or purchasing on the day of travel a valid standard class ticket(s) such as Family Tickets, Day Return, Open Return, Weekly, Monthly, Annual, InterRail and Free Travel pass holders can reserve a seat on a service for €5.00 per person each way. See MoreNo trains operating Tuesday 7th November due to industrial actionIarnród Éireann advises customers that due to further industrial action planned by trade unions, no train services - including Intercity, DART and Commuter routes - are expected to operate on the following dates: Tuesday 7th November Tuesday 14th November (includes Ireland v Denmark World Cup Play-off at Lansdowne Road) Thursday 23rd November Friday 8th December Please note: as over 150,000 journeys are made on our network daily, it is not possible to provide alternative transport on dates of industrial action other transport operators do not accept rail tickets on dates of industrial action Refunds - online booking If you have booked travel on these dates, we will cancel your booking for the dispute date journey leg and automatically refund you seven days prior to your date of travel (e.g. 31st October for 7th November; 7th November for 14th November etc). Please allow 3 to 5 days for your financial institution to process your refund. Please note no further bookings will be accepted on these dates due to the proposed industrial action. Refunds - Monthly and annual season tickets Customers who purchase monthly and annual season tickets, including through their company as part of the Taxsaver scheme, can apply for a refund for the days impacted by the industrial action. These will be processed at the end of the industrial action in a single process. A dedicated refund form will be available at the conclusion of the industrial action. To date industrial action has taken place on Wednesday 1st November Refunds - tickets purchased at station Customers who purchase their tickets at the station who were impacted by the industrial action should collect a refund form at the station or see refund details here and return to the address outlined. We apologise for and deeply regret the inconvenience and disruption this industrial action will cause our customers. Due this customers may experience delays of up to 10 minutes. Please note that if you are travelling to/from Limerick Junction to Sixmildebridge, Ennis or Galway you may be required to change at Limerick (Colbert).
