Features of the new Real Time Ireland App:– The Real Time Ireland App allows people to set alerts to inform them when their bus is 10 minutes, or 20 minutes or 30 minutes away from a certain bus stop, so they can plan when to leave home or work – The App can inform people when they are approaching a particular bus stop (GPS dependent) – The App shows combined transport updates from Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann, Luas, DART and Irish Rail

This website ( TransportforIreland.ie ) is a one-stop-shop for up-to-the-minute travelling and commuting information. From your own desk, home or smartphone, you can now easily access door-to-door journey plans, at a time you want. Or real-time information on when the next bus will arrive at the stop around the corner, or the next Luas at your local stop. Or find out how much credit you have left on your Leap card, details of your recent trips, and upload some additional credit onto your Leap card while you’re at it.

At the moment, you can see our Transport for Ireland logo on many different services which the National Transport Authority has developed, or funded, specifically to improve the public transport service on offer to you, the travelling public. These include:

Luas is Dublin’s tram service. There are 2 trams lines, the Luas Red Line linking Tallaght or Saggart to Connolly or The Point via the North City Centre and the Luas Green Line linking Brides Glen or Sandyford to St. Stephen’s Green in the South City Centre. Both lines have good Park + Ride and Cycle + Ride facilities. Frequent services operate from early morning to late evening 7 days a week and live tram service information is provided at all stops. Ticket price depends on how many zones you travel and tickets are available from Ticket Machines at the stops. A wide variety of good value tickets including 7 & 30 day tickets are available.

Bus Éireann operates a network of over 330 routes across the island of Ireland through an integrated network that allows customers make seamless journeys from small villages to larger towns and cities.
Bus Éireann provides a range of services such as intercity services; coach services to the UK and Europe; private coach hire; and city, commuter and town-to-town services outside Dublin.
There has been significant investment in the Bus Éireann fleet in the last number of years resulting in enhanced customer comfort, increased wheelchair accessibility and reduced emissions. All Bus Éireann city and town services are fully accessible. Bus Éireann has also been introducing accessible services on commercial intercity routes. Bus Éireann’s policy, since 2007, is that all new vehicles coming into the fleet will be fully wheelchair accessible and suitable for persons of reduced mobility.
Bus Éireann through its own resources and with funding from the National Transport Authority is currently rolling out Wi-Fi on services across its national network. Free Wi-Fi is currently available on over 140 Bus Éireann city, commuter and inter-city vehicles.
