SUMMARY:Clough NS Family Bike Parade
DESCRIPTION:Clough NS will host a Family Bike Parade on the GAA pitch in Clough to celebrate Bike Week 2026. This event will take place after school hours and will run for approximately 1 hour.\nThe parade will be held within the grounds of the GAA pitch\, using a clearly marked loop of approximately 400-500 meters. Participants will cycle together in a fun\, relaxed group setting\, for 20-30 minutes\, followed by a short free-cycle period.\nThis event is open to students\, their family and the wider local community\, encouraging\, intergenerational participation and promoting cycling as a healthy\, social activity. Children are encouraged to decorate their bikes\, and there will be a ‘best decorated bike’ element to add fun and creative aspect.\nThe event is suitable for all ages and abilities\, with a focus on inclusion rather than distance or speed. Helmets will be required\, all children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.\nSupervision will be provided by school staff and volunteers to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.\nClosed Event

Trained leaders will support the group\, ensuring a comfortable pace and plenty of encouragement for less experienced riders. \nAfter the cycle\, participants can enjoy **a tennis taster sessions**\, led by volunteers and coaches who will introduce basic skills in a fun\, informal way. Alongside this\, a family activity area within the park will offer balance‑bike play\, mini‑games\, and opportunities for younger children to get involved even if they’re not yet confident cyclists. \nLocation: Fr Breen Park and Abbeyleix Tennis Club.
