DESCRIPTION:Our 10th Leitrim Cycling Festival will be taking place in the lovely village of Cloone\, Co. Leitrim on the weekend of May 8th\, 9th and 10th. This festival is a fantastic way to promote cycling in Leitrim and rural areas\, to encourage people of all cycling abilities to take part\, to showcase all that Cloone and Leitrim has to offer in terms of its beautiful scenery\, active and talented residents\, opportunities for connection and future collaboration and to celebrate communities. The weekend of activities will be co-designed\, co-organised and co-delivered with the Cloone Community Centre group. All events are free and everyone is welcome whether they attend one event or all events. DESCRIPTION:A fun morning with bike-themed events in Gorey Town Park\, including a short Family Slow Roll in Gorey town in association with Gorey Pedestrian and Cycle Association. Slow bike race; prizes for best dressed bike; face painting. Balance Bike Buddies will also be on hand to teach some basic cycling skills to younger children. Attendees are encouraged to ‘Bling your bike or sparkle your scooter\,’ using ribbons\, flags\, repurposed materials and other items\, to be in with a chance of winning a cycling-themed prize. Slow and steady will be the name of the game in the ‘Slow Bicycle Race\,’ where participants in adult and child categories will compete to beat the slowest time and win a cycling-themed prize.\nThose who are curious about electric bicycles will have a chance to cycle one around the park and discover a great way to get around\, without even breaking a sweat. A highlight of Gorey Bike Fest is a “Slow Roll\,” a fun all-ages cycle from the park to the town centre and back again (2.5km). Everyone taking part will receive a refreshment voucher for The Coffee Pod. Children must be accompanied by an adult and all participants must wear a helmet and high vis.

DESCRIPTION:Clough National School will organise a Cycle Safety & Bike Maintenance Workshop on the GAA pitch in Clough as part of Bike Week 2026. This event will run for approximately 1.5 hours.\nThe workshop will take place in a designated area of the GAA pitch\, where students will rotate through interactive stations. These will include basic bike safety checks (tyres\, brakes and chains)\, helmet fitting\, and an introduction to simple bike maintenance skills.\nStudents will also take part in a practical road safety awareness session\, where they will learn about hand signals\, safe stopping\, awareness of surroundings\, and the importance of visibility while cycling. A short supervised cycle (approximately 200-300 meters within the pitch area) will allow students to practise these skills in a safe environment.\nThis activity is aimed at all classes from 1st to 6th class\, with content adapted to suit different age groups. DESCRIPTION:Clough National School to host Bike Week Fun Cycle and Skill Day on the GAA pitch in Clough. This event will take place over approximately 2 hours during the school day.\nThe event will be held on the GAA pitch\, providing a safe\, enclosed environment for all participants. Students will take part in a series of cycling activities\, including a short fun cycle around a marked loop of approximately 500 metres within the pitch grounds. Each participant will complete multiple laps depending on their ability\, with sessions lasting 20-30 minutes per group.\nThe event is targeted at primary school children from Junior infants to 6th class\, with activities adapted to suit different age groups and cycling abilities. The focus will be on developing basic cycling skill such as balance\, breaking\, turning and road safety awareness through fun\, structured games and obstacle courses.\nHelmets will be required\, and bikes/scooters are welcome. Teachers and volunteers will supervise all activities to ensure safety.\nThis event is primarily for students of Clough National School and will not be open to the general public.
