DESCRIPTION:We aim to encourage students to cycle safely to school each day during bike week with a hope that children might continue after bike week as the weather improves and days get brighter. Our school is along a busy road so safety will be our priority and will instruct children to cycle safely with their bikes and helmets. SUMMARY:Carlow Regional Youth Services- Bike Fest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Please note: this event is only open to members of Carlow Regional Youth Services\nPop-up bike repair and maintenance workshops alongside cycling challenges & workshops will be held to promote bike safety for children and teenagers in various local parks around Carlow town and environs (venues include Carlow Town Park\, Carlow Skate Park\, Hanover Park and The Vault Youth Project). All activities will be delivered by experienced facilitators and are non-competitive in nature\, focusing on skills\, safety and bike handling rather than speed or stunts. These cycling challenges will consist of a basic obstacle course\, balance board games as well as road safety quizzes. Basic safety checks will be carried out on bikes prior to participation\, helmets will be required\, and first-aid provision will be available on site. Spot prizes such as cycling safety gear and accessories will be awarded to participants. A qualified and experienced bike repair tutor will be present at each event to deliver maintenance guidance\, demonstrate safe repair techniques\, and carry out minor repairs and safety checks on participants’ bicycles.

DESCRIPTION:We plan to run the event in St Anne’s Park in Raheny\, Dublin 5 (park permit granted). It will be open to everyone but we are targeting children aged 8-15 in particular. The event will be free to take part in. All that is required is a bike and a helmet. \nThe event will involve various elements:\nSkills display by an Elite level mountain bike rider\nVarious obstacles courses that all riders can test themselves against\nRiding on a bike on a turbo trainer with a power meter to see who can get the highest power reading\nChallenge to ride on rollers – we will have an Elite track rider to demonstrate some skills on rollers \nWe will also have a qualified mechanic on hand to check bikes and indicate to riders if they need to get work done/parts replaced etc.\nThere will be various prizes on offer through the evening. \nWe will also have refreshments for all participants.

DESCRIPTION:Cycles\, clues\, and a bit of making. Join our 5km bike treasure hunt for a relaxed and playful evening. This is a 5km looped cycle\, taking in the canal\, a local park\, and nearby roads. The route is designed to be accessible and low-pressure\, using canal paths\, park spaces\, and quiet streets.\nAlong the way\, you’ll encounter four checkpoints\, each with a small challenge:\n• puzzles to solve\n• things to spot\n• simple hands-on making\nComplete them all and make your way back for some food and a chance to chat\, compare notes\, and see how everyone got on. Children welcome but should be accompanied. Please reserve a spot through the link provided if you are interested in attending.

DESCRIPTION:Cycling Ireland is organising a festival of events taking place in the heart of Dublin City. It will see a combination of high adrenaline racing on a spectator friendly closed circuit between Hanover Quay and Sir John Rogerson’s Quay\, a family and inclusive cycle on the closed city centre street circuit\, a fun balance bike race for the little ones\, a Brompton folding bike race\, an event village with bike brands\, interactive activities\, free bike stenciling for kids\, a BMX demonstration and a bike polo demonstration.
