DESCRIPTION:Get to Know Your Cycle Lanes \nAs part of Bike Week Limerick\, join the Castletroy Cruise\, a guided group cycle designed to help people get to know the cycle lanes and local routes in the Castletroy area\, and how they connect into the wider city network. Did you know there are over 115 km of cycle lanes across Limerick?\nThis is a relaxed and inclusive group ride\, led by experienced bike leaders and using cycle lanes as much as possible. The route is flat and loop based\, with short loops of up to 5km\, giving participants the choice to cycle as much or as little as they like. If you’re comfortable completing all of the loops\, the full distance is up to 16km.\nThe Castletroy Cruise is suitable for all ages and abilities and is about building confidence for everyday cycling.\nChildren must be accompanied by an adult. \nMeeting point: Castletroy Park\nStart and finish: Castletroy Park\nDuration: Approx. 2 hours

DESCRIPTION:Pupils at Moyle NS will begin Bike Week by bringing their bikes into school for a safety check and maintenance session with a visiting bike mechanic. This will ensure all bikes are safe and ready for use. \nFollowing this\, pupils from 2nd to 6th class\, accompanied by teachers and parents\, will cycle to Key Shore in Newtowncunningham\, where they will take part in a beach clean-up to support the school’s Green Flag environmental work. Younger pupils from Junior and Senior Infants and 1st class will remain at school to enjoy a supervised playground cycle with simple cycle routes and activities. \nThe day will conclude with a school picnic and spot prizes\, including bike lights\, bells\, and locks\, celebrating pupils’ participation and promoting safe and active travel.
