In total\, 48 participants will take part across the two days. The event is fully funded through support from Cycling Ireland and DLR Active Travel\, making all sessions free and accessible\, and aims to introduce new riders to mountain biking in a supportive\, professionally coached environment.

DESCRIPTION:We all remember mending punctures as a child\, putting the tube into water and searching for the bubbles. And the rest is a blur. Out on the road\, could you mend a puncture? Do you know how to put your chain back on? Deal with “soft” brakes?\nIf the answer to any of these is no\, then you need this event.\nWe will be running 2 sessions on Saturday 16th May\, at 10am and at 12 noon where you will learn about punctures\, wheels\, chains\, brakes and saddles. Feel free to bring your own bikes along\, or practice on ours.

DESCRIPTION:We are planning our event for Sunday 17th of May to celebrate Bike Week! We will kick things off with a friendly and informative talk on safe road cycling. This will be followed by a relaxed community cycle led by our local cycling experts from Saddle Rock Cycling Club. This first event which is aimed for adults will be perfect for beginners and casual cyclists\, with a comfortable 25km route designed to build confidence and enjoyment.\nAfter the cycle\, we’ll return to Barrack Hill for some well-earned healthy refreshments—a great chance to chat\, share stories\, and connect with fellow participants.\nExperts from Carndonagh Cycle will be running a fun and engaging bike obstacle course\, helping kids build skills and confidence in a safe environment.\nWe’ll also have a drop-in bike care clinic running throughout the event\, where you can learn essential skills like fixing a puncture\, checking your brakes\, and keeping your bike in top shape. This is open to teenagers and adults of all experience levels.
