DESCRIPTION:Participants will meet on St Patrick’s Quay in Cork City before setting out on a relaxed guided cycle towards Marina Park using the city cycle lanes. From there the group will join the Cork Harbour Greenway and follow the old Blackrock railway line through Blackrock and Mahon. The cycle will pass several well-known locations including Blackrock Castle and the Marina before returning to the city. The route uses cycle lanes and greenways and is approximately 95% traffic free. Bikes and helmets can be provided for participants who need them.

DESCRIPTION:Mountain biking is a big part of the Tír Chonaill GAP community\, and this Bike Week event is the perfect way to try it out. Starting and finishing at McCafferty’s Bar in Lettermacaward\, beginner riders will be guided off-road along gravel\, farm\, and mountain tracks\, enjoying spectacular scenery and stunning views along the way. Experienced cyclists will ride alongside to help manage the terrain\, and a limited number of bikes are available to borrow on a first-come\, first-served basis\, so be sure to book in advance. Whether you’re new to mountain biking or just looking for some off-road fun\, this event is open to all.

This will be followed by a relaxed community cycle led by our local cycling experts from Saddle Rock Cycling Club. This first event which is aimed for adults will be perfect for beginners and casual cyclists\, with a comfortable 25km route designed to build confidence and enjoyment.\nAfter the cycle\, we’ll return to Barrack Hill for some well-earned healthy refreshments—a great chance to chat\, share stories\, and connect with fellow participants.\nExperts from Carndonagh Cycle will be running a fun and engaging bike obstacle course\, helping kids build skills and confidence in a safe environment.\nWe’ll also have a drop-in bike care clinic running throughout the event\, where you can learn essential skills like fixing a puncture\, checking your brakes\, and keeping your bike in top shape. This is open to teenagers and adults of all experience levels.

DESCRIPTION:Mountain Biking is a big part of the Tír Chonaill GAP scene\, and we have attracted many new members to the club through mountain biking\, either directly from Bike Week or from seeing the photos on social media.\nThe event will start and finish at McCafferty’s Bar in Lettermacaward and we will take beginner cyclists off road on gravel\, farm and mountain tracks. The scenery is spectacular\, the views even better\, and the terrain even even better.\nIf you’ve never ridden a mountain bike but fancy a crack at this off road fun\, this is the event for you. You will be joined by experienced cyclists who will help you manage the terrain.\nWe have a few bikes available to lend\, but these will be allocated on a first come first served basis\, so please let us know in advance if you need one.
