DESCRIPTION:Private Event! \nThis proposal is for a half day cycle around Killarney National Park or a similar greenway area for a group of migrant women\, currently living in an accommodation centre in Drishane Castle in Millstreet\, Cork. The group have their own bikes but do not have access to transport. \nIn April/May 2026\, Wild Atlantic Sports will run a 5 week cycling programme on behalf of Cork Sports Partnership with the women\, to include cycle skills\, road safety\, bike maintenance and local road cycles. The final week of this programme is on Bike Week and the proposed cycle would be a super finish and celebration of their progress! \nThe Bike Week funding would support a trip to a local safe cycling and include bus hire for the group\, transport of the groups’ bikes to the cycle destination\, drinks & refreshments for the group and cover instructor/guide expenses.

The skills course gives children a basic introduction to some of the skills needed for BMX\, participants will get to practice their balance over small beams and ramps and watch as the Pro BMX Riders show off their tricks. The event will be open to Schools from 10am til 3pm and while it’s free to take part\, booking is essential. \nFrom 4pm to 6pm the course will be open to the general public to come and try\, children under 16 will need a parent/guardian with them to sign the consent form. DESCRIPTION:We plan to run the event in St Anne’s Park in Raheny\, Dublin 5 (park permit granted). It will be open to everyone but we are targeting children aged 8-15 in particular. The event will be free to take part in. All that is required is a bike and a helmet. \nThe event will involve various elements:\nSkills display by an Elite level mountain bike rider\nVarious obstacles courses that all riders can test themselves against\nRiding on a bike on a turbo trainer with a power meter to see who can get the highest power reading\nChallenge to ride on rollers – we will have an Elite track rider to demonstrate some skills on rollers \nWe will also have a qualified mechanic on hand to check bikes and indicate to riders if they need to get work done/parts replaced etc.\nThere will be various prizes on offer through the evening. \nWe will also have refreshments for all participants.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate National Bike Week 2026\, our Scout Group proposes to organise a “Community Adventure Cycle” along the Muff Greenway. This family-focused\, non-competitive event will provide an opportunity for young people and their families to engage in a fun\, safe\, and inclusive cycling experience within a traffic-free environment.\nThe event will bring together Beavers\, Cubs\, Scouts\, leaders\, families and friends\, with an anticipated participation of 200-250 individuals. Participants will complete a guided cycle of 5–10km\, supported by Scout leaders and volunteers. The cycle will incorporate patrol-based challenges and nature activities.
