SUMMARY:Velodrome taster sessions
DESCRIPTION:We propose to offer schools the opportunity to bring classes to try riding on Sundrive velodrome. Over the course of a school day we can accommodate up to 48 children split into smaller groups. We provide bikes\, helmets and cycling shoes for participants. \nA day out at the velodrome offers participants a unique experience where they ride on a banked track on fixed wheel bikes with only one gear. \nWe will have three accredited coaches on hand throughout the sessions.

SUMMARY:Bike Week - Bishop Foley N.S
DESCRIPTION:Please note: this event is only open to primary school students at Bishop Foley N.S Carlow.\nEach teacher will deliver lessons on safe cycling practices for both roads and cycle paths.\nThe children in our special class will be included in these lessons and take part in the competition with their base classes.\nThe Cycling Safety Posters will be displayed throughout our school on noticeboards.\nA selection of posters and the winning students will appear on our school Instagram account.\nWe have a large Bike Week sign that we will include in the photographs.

DESCRIPTION:To encourage students to cycle and become confident in cycling to school.\nPart 1:\nFull week long cycle festival. Children who can\, are encouraged to cycle to school for the whole week. There will be treats for those who do.\nPart 2:\nBike day: A one day event where students can bring their bike to school. There will be a course set up around the school grounds for children to cycle around the yard.\nThere will be a bike mechanic in from the local bike shop/club to instruct children on bike maintenance and repairs.\nThere will be some refreshments and treats organised for the students. \n#BikeWeekWestmeath
