Did you know there are over 115 km of cycle lanes in Limerick?\nThis is a relaxed\, inclusive group ride\, led by experienced bike leaders and using cycle lanes as much as possible. The route is flat and loop based\, with short loops of up to 5 km. Participants can choose how much they cycle – if you’re comfortable completing all the loops\, the total distance is up to 15 km.\nThe ride is suitable for all ages and abilities and is about building confidence for everyday cycling.\nChildren must be accompanied by an adult.

DESCRIPTION:Encourage children of all ages and ability to cycle.\nThe event will take place at the walking/cycle track in Ballinahown\, located in the sports park. The challenge is to cycle 150 kms as a community. Younger children can cycle around one lap and old children will cycle several laps. Each lap is approximately .75 km. We will have refreshments for participants and families … promoting a community event.

DESCRIPTION:The Generational Cycle is a Bike Week event that invites children\, parents and grandparents to enjoy cycling together on the Limerick Greenway. It’s all about spending time together\, getting active\, and experiencing the joy of cycling as a family\, while enjoying the safe\, scenic and accessible Greenway environment. \nBased at Locomotion Bike Rental\, Barnagh Greenway Hub\, families will be welcomed to the hub\, introduced to the facilities\, and matched with a suitable bike and helmet\, including adaptive bikes where needed. After a short safety chat and route guidance\, families can set off at a relaxed pace to explore the Greenway together. The event has a strong community and accessibility focus\, with the emphasis on fun and accessibility. Photos will be taken during the event\, and families are invited to enjoy complimentary tea/coffee and scones or hot chocolate and cookies at Platform 22 café afterwards. \nThe event is community focused and places a strong emphasis on accessibility. \nBooking required – Booking in advance helps us make sure the right supports and equipment are available.\n(To book follow the event link for further details.)
