DESCRIPTION:The Bike Check & E Bike Experience Day is a hands on\, inclusive event designed to promote confidence\, safety and enjoyment in cycling.\nDelivered by qualified instructors from the Bicycle Engineering Academy\, the event includes two main elements:\n– a basic bike inspection (M-check) workshop and\n– a supervised e-bike experience. \nParticipants attend at staggered time slots to ensure smooth flow and appropriate supervision. On arrival\, each participant will receive a short introduction and safety overview before taking part in a guided M-check of their own bicycle. This session focuses on key safety components such as tyres\, brakes\, chain and overall bike condition\, and is delivered in a clear\, step by step way\, with opportunities to ask questions and carry out checks under supervision. \nParticipants then have the opportunity to try an e-bike in a controlled environment. This includes a short induction explaining the controls\, safe operation and key differences from a standard bicycle\, followed by a supervised test ride in a designated safe area. \nAll activities are delivered with a strong emphasis on safety\, accessibility and inclusivity. The event is suitable for a wide range of participants\, including beginners\, families and those new to cycling or e-bikes\, and aims to build confidence\, reduce barriers to cycling and provide an enjoyable and informative experience. \nBooking required – Booking in advance helps us make sure the right supports and equipment are available.\n(To book follow the event link for further details.)

SUMMARY:Carlow Regional Youth Services- Bike Fest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Please note: this event is only open to members of Carlow Regional Youth Services\nPop-up bike repair and maintenance workshops alongside cycling challenges & workshops will be held to promote bike safety for children and teenagers in various local parks around Carlow town and environs (venues include Carlow Town Park\, Carlow Skate Park\, Hanover Park and The Vault Youth Project). All activities will be delivered by experienced facilitators and are non-competitive in nature\, focusing on skills\, safety and bike handling rather than speed or stunts. These cycling challenges will consist of a basic obstacle course\, balance board games as well as road safety quizzes. Basic safety checks will be carried out on bikes prior to participation\, helmets will be required\, and first-aid provision will be available on site. Spot prizes such as cycling safety gear and accessories will be awarded to participants. A qualified and experienced bike repair tutor will be present at each event to deliver maintenance guidance\, demonstrate safe repair techniques\, and carry out minor repairs and safety checks on participants’ bicycles.

DESCRIPTION:Participants will meet on St Patrick’s Quay before setting out on a guided cycle through Cork City. The route will visit several historic and scenic areas including the River Lee quays\, the city centre\, and other well-known locations around the city. The group will cycle at an easy pace with short stops along the way where the guide will share stories about the history of Cork and how the city developed over the past 1\,500 years. The cycle will use cycle lanes and quieter streets where possible. Children attending must be 16 or older.

Did you know there are over 115 km of cycle lanes across Limerick?\nThis is a relaxed and inclusive group ride\, led by experienced bike leaders and using cycle lanes as much as possible. The route is flat and loop based\, with short loops of up to 5km\, giving participants the choice to cycle as much or as little as they like.
