SUMMARY:Safe Cycle to School Training Initiative
DESCRIPTION:Royal and Prior Comprehensive will take part in Bike Week 2026 by promoting cycling to school and encouraging more students to cycle where possible. They will run cycle training sessions\, focus on students within a 5km radius of the school\, and share information about local cycling routes and safety. The school will also raise awareness of cycling in the wider school and local community and engage with nearby schools to promote participation in Bike Week activities.

DESCRIPTION:Scoil Mhuire B&C is delighted to welcome Ronan McLaughlin for a special cycling event with students. Ronan is a former professional cyclist with A Post Chain Reaction\, a journalist with Escape Collective\, and a world record holder for the cycling Everesting challenge. \nDuring the visit\, he will speak to children about life as a competitive cyclist\, including training\, nutrition\, equipment\, and what it takes to perform at an elite level. He will also showcase his bikes and cycling gear\, giving students an up-close look at professional cycling equipment. \nThe session will include a group Q&A\, giving children the opportunity to ask questions and learn directly from his experiences in the sport.
