DESCRIPTION:Slaney Cycling in association with Cycling Ireland are delighted to run a Mountain Bike skills sessions as part of Bike Week 2026.\nThis will be aimed at kids of all ages and will comprise hands-on training to improve rider confidence\, technical ability\, and safety. We will be focusing on essential techniques like body positioning\, optimal line choice\, braking efficiency\, and navigating features such as drops\, jumps\, and tight switchbacks. These sessions are aimed at beginners or cyclists looking to take their biking off-road for the first time. \nThe MTB Skills Sessions will be held in the Showgrounds Enniscorthy (Y21 XP63) on Sunday the 16th May between 2pm and 4pm. SUMMARY:Bike Skills for Kids – Coolaney
DESCRIPTION:Fun\, safe\, and active cycling sessions helping kids build skills\, confidence\, and a love for being on the bike!\nBeginner / Nervous (5 to 10 years) – For children who are just starting on a pedal bike\, struggle with getting started\, or wobble a lot while cycling. This level focuses on improving balance and pedalling skills.\nImprover / Advanced (8 to 12 years) – For children who can start and stop independently and cycle in a straight line but need to improve their braking and cornering skills.\nChildren should bring their own bikes to get comfortable handling them\, but bikes are available if needed—these must be booked when registering. Please ensure that bike brakes are working properly\, and all children must wear a helmet for the entire session.

DESCRIPTION:Royal and Prior Comprehensive will take part in Bike Week 2026 by promoting cycling to school and encouraging more students to cycle where possible. They will run cycle training sessions\, focus on students within a 5km radius of the school\, and share information about local cycling routes and safety. The school will also raise awareness of cycling in the wider school and local community and engage with nearby schools to promote participation in Bike Week activities.
