DESCRIPTION:Scoil Chroí Naofa\, Carn Domhnach\, proposes to deliver a “Decorate Your Bike Parade” as part of National Bike Week 2026\, taking place in Barrack Hill Gardens & Play Park\, a safe\, traffic-free environment within close proximity to the school.\nThe event will promote participation in recreational cycling\, particularly among children and families\, in line with Bike Week objectives of inclusion\, accessibility\, and community engagement.\nParticipants will decorate their bikes or scooters and take part in a supervised\, non-competitive parade\, encouraging enjoyment of cycling regardless of ability. The event will specifically support new and occasional cyclists by providing a safe\, supportive environment to build confidence. Inclusive participation will be facilitated through alternative roles and adapted approaches where needed.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate National Bike Week 2026\, our Scout Group proposes to organise a “Community Adventure Cycle” along the Muff Greenway. This family-focused\, non-competitive event will provide an opportunity for young people and their families to engage in a fun\, safe\, and inclusive cycling experience within a traffic-free environment.\nThe event will bring together Beavers\, Cubs\, Scouts\, leaders\, families and friends\, with an anticipated participation of 200-250 individuals. Participants will complete a guided cycle of 5–10km\, supported by Scout leaders and volunteers. The cycle will incorporate patrol-based challenges and nature activities.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Mountain Biking
DESCRIPTION:Mountain Biking is a big part of the Tír Chonaill GAP scene\, and we have attracted many new members to the club through mountain biking\, either directly from Bike Week or from seeing the photos on social media.\nThe event will start and finish at McCafferty’s Bar in Lettermacaward and we will take beginner cyclists off road on gravel\, farm and mountain tracks. The scenery is spectacular\, the views even better\, and the terrain even even better.\nIf you’ve never ridden a mountain bike but fancy a crack at this off road fun\, this is the event for you. You will be joined by experienced cyclists who will help you manage the terrain.\nWe have a few bikes available to lend\, but these will be allocated on a first come first served basis\, so please let us know in advance if you need one.
