SUMMARY:Leitrim Cycling Festival
DESCRIPTION:Our 10th Leitrim Cycling Festival will be taking place in the lovely village of Cloone\, Co. Leitrim on the weekend of May 8th\, 9th and 10th. This festival is a fantastic way to promote cycling in Leitrim and rural areas\, to encourage people of all cycling abilities to take part\, to showcase all that Cloone and Leitrim has to offer in terms of its beautiful scenery\, active and talented residents\, opportunities for connection and future collaboration and to celebrate communities. The weekend of activities will be co-designed\, co-organised and co-delivered with the Cloone Community Centre group. All events are free and everyone is welcome whether they attend one event or all events. DESCRIPTION:Biking Buddies will bring together friends\, families and individuals to cycle together and celebrate the new Ballyshannon Bundoran Cycleway. Bring your bike and meet at Bundoran Community Centre\, Marc Geagan Suite (around the back!). After a quick intro and safety check we will cycle to the new Cycleway and on to Finner Camp… and a little further. Water break and refreshments will be at Finner before returning to Bundoran Community Centre.\nChildren must be accompanied by an adult and don’t forget your cycling helmets!

DESCRIPTION:Fun\, safe\, and active cycling sessions helping kids build skills\, confidence\, and a love for being on the bike!\nBeginner / Nervous (5 to 10 years) – For children who are just starting on a pedal bike\, struggle with getting started\, or wobble a lot while cycling. This level focuses on improving balance and pedalling skills.\nImprover / Advanced (8 to 12 years) – For children who can start and stop independently and cycle in a straight line but need to improve their braking and cornering skills.\nChildren should bring their own bikes to get comfortable handling them\, but bikes are available if needed—these must be booked when registering. Please ensure that bike brakes are working properly\, and all children must wear a helmet for the entire session.

SUMMARY:Gorey Bike Fest
DESCRIPTION:A fun morning with bike-themed events in Gorey Town Park\, including a short Family Slow Roll in Gorey town in association with Gorey Pedestrian and Cycle Association. Slow bike race; prizes for best dressed bike; face painting. Balance Bike Buddies will also be on hand to teach some basic cycling skills to younger children. Attendees are encouraged to ‘Bling your bike or sparkle your scooter\,’ using ribbons\, flags\, repurposed materials and other items\, to be in with a chance of winning a cycling-themed prize. Slow and steady will be the name of the game in the ‘Slow Bicycle Race\,’ where participants in adult and child categories will compete to beat the slowest time and win a cycling-themed prize.\nThose who are curious about electric bicycles will have a chance to cycle one around the park and discover a great way to get around\, without even breaking a sweat. A highlight of Gorey Bike Fest is a “Slow Roll\,” a fun all-ages cycle from the park to the town centre and back again (2.5km). Everyone taking part will receive a refreshment voucher for The Coffee Pod. Children must be accompanied by an adult and all participants must wear a helmet and high vis.
