SUMMARY:Leitrim Cycling Festival
DESCRIPTION:Our 10th Leitrim Cycling Festival will be taking place in the lovely village of Cloone\, Co. Leitrim on the weekend of May 8th\, 9th and 10th. This festival is a fantastic way to promote cycling in Leitrim and rural areas\, to encourage people of all cycling abilities to take part\, to showcase all that Cloone and Leitrim has to offer in terms of its beautiful scenery\, active and talented residents\, opportunities for connection and future collaboration and to celebrate communities. The weekend of activities will be co-designed\, co-organised and co-delivered with the Cloone Community Centre group. All events are free and everyone is welcome whether they attend one event or all events. Camping spots are available for tents and camper vans and accommodation in the surrounding area will also be promoted for the many people who travel to the festival from outside the locality. \nOverview of the weekend of activities (subject to slight changes) \nFriday 8th May\n– 3pm Scavanger Hunt on Bothar na Naomh\n– 4pm Kids Art Modelling Workshop\n– 5-9pm Pete’s Pizza\n– 6pm Festival launch with local Cllrs\, LSP and organisers\n– 6.30pm Celebratory Cycle – Bothar na Naomh\n– 7pm Film Screening\n– 7pm Kids Bike-Powered Disco\n– 9pm Trad Session \nSaturday 9th May\n– 8-10am Boxty Breakfast\n– 9am Boxty Demo\n– 9.30-11am Wellness Morning – Yoga and Soundbath\n– 9.30am Art Workshop\n– 10am Dr Bike\n– 10am Balance Bikes (ages 2-5 years)\n– 10am Accessible Bikes\n– 10am Face Painting\n– 11am Community Cycle to Kildra Lake & Picnic\n– 12pm Lake Activities (tbc)\n– 2pm Cycling Advocacy talks – Brag\, swag and opportunities to get involved\n– 3pm Cycling Adventures – stories of travels on two wheels\n– 4pm Annual Slow Bicycle Race\n– 5pm Sleeping Bag Challenge\n– 5.30pm Festival Feast\n– 6pm Kids Film Screening\n– 7pm Ceili \nSunday 10th May\n– 8-10am Continental Breakfast\n– 10am Kids Art Workshop\n– 10am Cycle Maintenance Workshop\n– 10am The Community behind Bothar na Naomh Trail\n– 11.30am Community Cycle / Bicycle Orienteering\n– 1pm Tea & Cake\n– 2pm Close \nThroughout the weekend there will also be opportunities to take part in self-led cycles\, crafting at the art table\, reading and contributing to the story wall and enjoying coffee from the coffee cart.
