SATURDAY 11TH MAY 2024
POP UP BIKE REPAIR 

Pop up bike repairs, take the fear out of fixing a bike puncture or changing a chain!

Time:  12 – 2pm

Location: Kilkenny Market, The Parade

Suitability: Everyone

PARADE YOUR BIKE WITH RELAY FOR LIFE 

Our event will encourage families to get creative by decorating their bikes & join us for a leisurely cycle while we parade our spectacular bikes. We will have a variety of decorations for the participants to use to decorate their bikes, we will have face painting & entertainment. Everyone will then follow us for our bicycle parade.

Time:  Meet at 2pm to decorate bikes, Parade at 3pm

INTRODUCTION TO MOUNTAIN BIKING

Introduction to Mountain Biking for those aged 12+ at Castlecomer Discovery Park.

Time:  10.30am – 11.30am

 Suitability: Anybody aged 12+ who hasn’t mountain biked before

KILKENNY HISTORIC CYCLE TOUR 

Come and take a spin through historic Kilkenny with our knowledgeable local tour guide!

Time:  2-3pm

 Suitability: Adults or teenagers who are comfortable cycling.

TUESDAY 14TH MAY 2024
BEGINNER BIKE MAINTENANCE CLASS 

A bike maintenance class for teenagers and adults to learn basic maintenance for their bike.

Time:  7-8pm

 Date: Tuesday 14th May 2024

 Location: Sullivans Taprooms, Kilkenny

 Suitability: Teenagers and Adults

PRIMARY SCHOOL BIKE CLASS 

A bike class introducing school children to a bike, their functions and information on them

Time: 11-12pm

 Date: Tuesday 14th of May 2024

 Location: CBS primary school, Kilkenny

 Suitability: School children

BIKE FOR LIFE LEVEL ONE

This adult cycling course is ideal for anyone who might be a bit rusty in terms of their cycling skills. It is also for someone who might be using cycling for rehabilitation from an injury or illness, or someone who is nervous cycling on the road, and wants to learn the basic skills. The focus in this group is on building confidence and competence and introducing the concept of group cycles.

Start your programme with a bike check and coffee to meet with other beginner cyclists on the 14th of May during BikeWeek!

Time:  11am

Date: 14th, 21st, 28th May, 4th and 11th June

Location:  County Hall, John St Entrance, John St, Kilkenny

ADVANCED BIKE MAINTENANCE

An advanced bike maintenance class for those with some knowledge of bike maintenance or those who want a challenge and to learn new skills.

Time:  7-8pm

Date: Thursday 16th of May 2024

Basic bike maintenance for school children!

INTRODUCTION TO CYCLING

Introduction to cycling to people who want to learn to cycle or regain their confidence

BIKE FEST

Bike Fest returns this year on the 19th of May 2024! There are more things to experience, join us for a slow roll through the city, test bikes, children’s balance bike course, join a leisure cycle, nature walks, pop-up mountain bike course, arts and crafts workshops and so much more!
