Come and Try Mountain Biking with trained tutors in the beautiful setting of Ballyhoura Mountain Trails.

SUNDAY 12TH MAY 2024
FAMILY CYCLE

Limerick Sports Partnership and Limerick City & County Council invite you on a family cycle along the banks of the River Shannon. Join us in UL and cycle the Riverbank all the way to O’Brien Park, where you can enjoy some light refreshments and enjoy the new playground and activity amenities.

Time:  11.00 am

MONDAY 13TH MAY 2024
BALANCE BIKE PROGRAMME

Tutor-led balance bike programme for pre-schools in Limerick City & County.

Time:  All week

Location: Countywide

Suitability: Pre-schools

CYCLE TO WORK INITIATIVE

Local employers encourage staff to cycle to and from work during Bike Week. Participating organisations post this on social media, tagging Limerick Sports Partnership and Bike Week 2024. The company with the most social media interactions wins vouchers for local bike shops.

INCLUSION COME & TRY CYCLING

To celebrate Bike Week 2024, we are offering free inclusion cycling sessions on the Limerick Greenway.

These sessions are guided by Like Bikes and will run from Abbeyfeale. Sessions are 45 minutes in duration.

Time:  10.30 am

Date: Monday 13th May 2024

Location: Abbeyfeale Greenway Entrance

Suitability: Disability service users

 

WEDNESDAY 15TH MAY 2024
SPINNING SIXTIES CYCLE

To celebrate Bike Week 2024, Limerick Sports Partnership and Locomotion Bike Rentals invite you on a social cycle along the beautiful Limerick Greenway.

This cycle will go from Barnagh Hub to Abbeyfeale, then return to Barnagh for some refreshments in Platform 22.

Bike & helmet will be provided.

Time:  11.00 am

Date: Wednesday 15th May 2024

Location: The Barnagh Greenway Hub

Suitability: Over 55s

Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail 6 Km The Green/Greenwood Loop (6kms,
45 mins, moderate) is a good
introduction to the trails.For more information click here
Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail 17 Km Intermediate The Brown/Mountrussell Loop (17kms,
2 hours, difficult) is some technical
features on it with more climbing
and descending.For more information click here 
Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail 35 Km Advanced The White/Garrane Loop (35kms,
4 hours, difficult) is a lot
more challenging in terms of
distance with sections of tight
turns, steep descents and
features such as small rock
steps, exposed roots and
elevated timber boardwalks.For more information click here
Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail 41 Km Advanced The Blue/Streamhill Loop (41km,
5 hrs, severe) is challenging
in terms of distance but will
take you to the remoter parts
of the forest.For more information click here
Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail 51 Km Advanced The Red/Castlepook Loop (51km,
4-6 hours, severe) that is the
ultimate loop of the Ballyhoura
trails, being the longest and
most demanding. It goes right to
the southern fringes of the
forest and presents you with
the biggest climbs and most
