TFI Leap Card Promo Means Further Savings for Customers
Transport for Ireland (TFI) has announced special free and reduced fares for TFI Leap Card users this month on the TFI public transport network.
From 16 – 29 September, TFI Leap Card multi-mode weekly caps are reduced as follows:
- €25 down from €40 for adults
- €25 down from €30 for students
- €7 down from €14 for children
Once passengers reach this weekly cap amount, their subsequent journeys on the Luas, Dublin Bus, DART, Go-Ahead Ireland and Iarnród Éireann commuter services are free for the remainder of the week.
Additionally, Bus Éireann passengers can use their TFI Leap Cards to avail of further reductions in fares on city and town services including Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, Drogheda, Dundalk, Sligo, Balbriggan, Navan and Athlone.
Using a TFI Leap Card on Bus Éireann city and town services always saves passengers 30% when compared to cash fares, but from 16 – 29 September an additional 30% reduction in fare will be applied, resulting in savings of over half the cash fare.
Anne Graham, CEO of the National Transport Authority, said:
“TFI Leap Card is the most convenient way to pay for trips on the TFI public transport network, and this promotion is a fantastic way to raise awareness around the benefits of capping and reduced fares when travelling with a TFI Leap Card.
Following on the huge success of Kids Go Free in July where over 1.9 million free journeys were taken, TFI is delighted to extend reduced-fares and free journeys to reward customers for their continued support.”
Earlier this year, the NTA announced that €600,000 in credit deposits and travel balances held in dormant TFI Leap Card accounts would be put to good use for the benefit of all public transport users. The September TFI Leap Card promotion is the latest initiative to benefit from this fund.
The promotion ties in with European Mobility Week to showcase our commitment to clean and sustainable urban transport.
