Walk and Ride
Transport for Ireland have with partnered the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and Healthy Ireland on a campaign to encourage people to add a bit more walking into their daily commute.
The campaign is a first step in taking a more joined-up approach across Health and Transport, linking health and sustainable travel polices together for the benefit of the commuter. The pilot will be assessing what it is that will motivate commuters to introduce more physical activity into their daily routines.
Taking Steps to Be Healthier…
…its easier than you think. Did you know even a 10 minute walk a day can have significant health benefits? it can potentially lead to reduced stress levels, a boost in energy, and improved concentration and mood
To get some of the benefits just change up your commute a little. If you’re using public transport, try walking to a stop that’s further away, or get off a stop earlier than usual.
Its all about making walking part of your everyday journey.
