Driver Check App Usage Data

We use a monitoring application to collate and analyse certain statistical information about the use of the Driver Check app. When you download and use the Driver Check app, the following information is retained about that usage:

  • ANID code: this is an Android code that links your device to the Driver Check app. It is used by NTA for statistical purposes, to report on the number of downloads and other usages. The NTA has no way of identifying users from the ANID code and the NTA collects no other information about the user.

Purposes of Processing and Legal Basis

We will use the above usage data relating to you for the purposes of:

  • Generating and analysing statistics regarding usage of the Driver Check app, including the frequency of downloads and searches;
  • Performing our functions as a public authority and complying with our legal obligations.

The basis on which we process usage data through the ANID is:

  • necessity for the performance of tasks that we carry out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in us by law; and/or
  • necessity for compliance with a legal obligation that applies to us.

Recipients of Data

We do not disclose your usage data to other organisations.

The ANID code is deleted after 60 days of inactivity.
