Transport for Ireland (TFI) oversees the delivery of public transport services across Ireland.

The TFI public transport network includes all services that are procured, funded, and regulated by the National Transport Authority (NTA).

Operators including Bus Éireann, Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland, Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, Luas and TFI Local Link, provide these services. TFI Bikes are also part of the network, offering a more sustainable way to travel.

The need and popularity of public transport in Ireland continues to grow each year with over 308 million passenger journeys recorded in 2023,  a record high for TFI.

Expanding the TFI Network

TFI has recently enhanced the range of services available with over 100 new and improved bus services launched in towns and villages under the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan.

In Dublin, the BusConnects Network Redesign continues to roll out with Phase 6a due to launch later in 2024.

New Sustainable Fleet

TFI has begun rolling out a fleet of accessible vehicles including fully electric buses and hybrid electric trains.
