Iarnród Éireann has advised customers that a new national timetable comes into operation from Sunday 14th December.
The new timetable has been approved by the National Transport Authority, with minor time changes to services on a number of routes.
While most services see little to no change, customers are advised to check times for any changes at www.irishrail.ie or the Iarnród Éireann app.

Rail Routes with revised timetables
Routes impacted include:
- Mallow to Cork and Cobh / Midleton to Cork
- Dublin – Cork
- Dublin – Portlaoise
- Dublin – Waterford
- Dublin – Limerick
- Galway – Limerick
- Dublin – Tralee
- Dublin – Galway
- Dublin – Westport
- Dublin – Maynooth / Longford
- DART Howth – Greystones
- DART Malahide – Greystones
Notable changes
The most notable changes include:
- A number of peak-time direct services between Mallow and Cobh/Midleton (via Cork) will come into operation, using the new platform 6 at Kent Station, which opened earlier this year
- Minor timing changes on a number of routes, including at intermediate stations
- The autumn timetable, in operation since 22nd September to make time allowances for the impact of leaf fall in the DART and Commuter area, ends with times reverting to the pre-Autumn schedule
