Conna Bike Week Event

May 14 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Bike Week community event at Conna local hall, designed to promote cycling, road safety, and community engagement in an inclusive and accessible setting. The event will take the form of a “Cycle Café”, providing a welcoming space for participants to gather, access information, and take part in a range of cycling-related activities. A key element of the event will be a professionally delivered cycle clinic, where a qualified bicycle mechanic will carry out safety checks, minor repairs, and provide practical advice on bike maintenance and upkeep. In addition, bike property marking will be available on the day in partnership with An Garda Síochána, supporting crime prevention and encouraging responsible bike ownership. The event will also include children’s activities and games, with incentives and prizes to encourage participation and promote cycling among younger age groups. The initiative will be delivered in collaboration with Muintir na Tíre and is subject to confirmation with Cork Community Bikes, who are expected to support the delivery of the cycle clinic and community engagement elements. Overall, the event aims to increase awareness of the benefits of cycling, support sustainable transport, enhance bike safety, and strengthen community connections through a well-organised and family-friendly Bike Week initiative.
