Nature Cycle

May 12 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The whole school will take a cycle along the canal, taking in the local biodiversity along the way.
Our proposed bike event will begin at 10:00am, with all students departing from the school grounds wearing high-visibility vests and helmets to ensure safety. Prior to departure, there will be a brief discussion on bike safety, reinforcing key messages that will have already been covered during preparatory lessons on safe road use and the rules of the road.

The group will cycle along the canal route towards the local village. This route has been chosen for its safety, accessibility, and opportunities for observing the natural environment. Along the way, students will be encouraged to engage with their surroundings by identifying and discussing elements of local biodiversity.

Upon arrival in the village, students will take part in a picnic and recreational activities at the local playground. As part of the educational aspect of the trip, students will complete a short survey reflecting on the biodiversity observed during the journey.

This event directly supports our Green Schools programme for this year, which focuses on biodiversity. It provides a practical, active learning experience that promotes environmental awareness, road safety, and physical wellbeing.”
