Pedal Power Week

May 11 - May 15

Event Aim: To encourage pupils and families of Scoil Chroí Naofa to adopt cycling as a healthy, fun, and environmentally friendly way to travel to school, while promoting road safety, confidence, and community participation.
Monday – Launch Day

· Whole-school assembly

· Explain rules:

o Cycle if you can

o Helmets encouraged

· “Count Your Cyclists” board begins

Tuesday – Safety & Skills Day

· Teachers note daily participation

· Short safety talk (classroom or yard)

· Demonstrate:

o Helmet fitting

o Hand signals

· Optional:

o Simple obstacle course in yard

Safety is key—helmets significantly reduce head injuries

Wednesday – “Bling Your Bike” Day

· Children decorate bikes/helmets

· Mini parade around yard

· Colouring competition / Bike safety Poster competition

Thursday – Bike Challenge Day

· Class vs class challenge:

o Which class has most cyclists?

Friday – Celebration Day· Prize giving:

o Best effort

o Most cyclists

o Best decorated bike

o Competition

· Certificates

· Group photo
