Shore Cycle and Picnic
Pupils at Moyle NS will begin Bike Week by bringing their bikes into school for a safety check and maintenance session with a visiting bike mechanic. This will ensure all bikes are safe and ready for use.
Following this, pupils from 2nd to 6th class, accompanied by teachers and parents, will cycle to Key Shore in Newtowncunningham, where they will take part in a beach clean-up to support the school’s Green Flag environmental work. Younger pupils from Junior and Senior Infants and 1st class will remain at school to enjoy a supervised playground cycle with simple cycle routes and activities.
The day will conclude with a school picnic and spot prizes, including bike lights, bells, and locks, celebrating pupils’ participation and promoting safe and active travel.
