John from the Bike mobile will do basic maintenance checks on bicycles to ensure the bikes are safe and running smoothly. Experienced mechanics check everything on participants' bikes from wheels, brakes, gears and tyre pressure to lights, racks, pedals, saddles and more.

Two categories for children to learn to cycle. Beginner / Nervous (5 to 10 years) – For children who are just starting on a pedal bike, struggle with getting started, or wobble a lot while cycling. This level focuses on improving balance and pedalling skills. Improver / Advanced (8 to 12 years) – For children who can start and stop independently and cycle in a straight line but need to improve their braking and cornering skills.

Bike Safety, Bike Skills and Bike Maintenance
During Bike Week, club volunteers will visit local schools for fun, hands-on cycling sessions. Teens at The Comp in Glenties will learn basic bike maintenance, while younger children at national schools will practice cycling skills in the playground

At Barefield National School a fun leisure cycle for all the school children, including a bike check on the day and some advice regarding proper maintenance - by Burren Cycling club.
Students form Magh Ene College will complete a 5km Cycle in the local area to raise awareness around cycling among students. They will hold a session on Bike Maintenance and Safety prior to the Cycle, hosted by the Green Schools Travel Officer.

Join our off-road cycling workshop for adults to master trail techniques, improve handling, and conquer any terrain with confidence at Lisnamult Sport and Activity Hub, Co. Roscommon.
This skills evening will provide the children with the basic skills that are required when starting to cycle.
Members of Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin will take part in an event aiming to promote and encourage the use of the new Greenway when traveling to and from matches/training. The event will involve a one hour session at the club led by local cycling coaches focusing on cycling skills, cycling safety and guidelines for using the greenway. This will be followed by a guided cycle on the greenway and refreshments in the clubhouse.

The Bike Maintenance Workshop teaches essential bike care skills, including fixing flats, adjusting brakes, and cleaning chains. Participants can bring their own bikes for hands-on learning with a local expert. Free safety kits, including lights and reflective gear, will be provided to promote safe, confident, and regular cycling habits.
