Asking children to cycle every day to school including a "bling your bike" day. Local sports coach coming to school to organise cycling routes and courses around school yard and grounds. All classes to create a pedal power project as homework for the week - this could be a presentation, a piece of art, a piece of creative writing, a poster, a video - or anything that they would like to present. Prizes will be given for these presentations and for the best decorated bike - the prizes will relate to cycling eg helmets and bike accessories.

As part of Bike Week, students will explore Bonny Glen Forest and the Dolmen Stone by bike, promoting fitness, confidence, and outdoor learning. The event combines cycling with local heritage, teamwork, and environmental awareness, ending with a picnic. It highlights cycling as a fun, educational, and healthy group activity.

A relaxed social of road cycle on the beautiful new Midleton to Youghal Greenway
This cycle will be completely off-road apart from the first few hundred meters on the Grand Parade, it will be slow and easy so is particularly suited to those who are less confident cyclists.
You can join us on the Grand Parade at 12 noon or at Midleton railway station at 1:10, Irish Rail is providing a free rail transfer from Kent Station to Midleton Station for cyclists and their bikes free of charge to showcase the ease of traveling by bike and rail.
On Tuesday 13th May, Donegal County Council will host a 6km lunchtime cycle around Donegal Town for Bike Week 2025. Staff will enjoy a relaxed ride, a healthy lunch, and learn about cycling safety, the benefits of exercise, the Cycle to Work Scheme, and try out electric bikes.
