Pupils from the senior classes from Murroe NS will take part in a group cycle on a route nearby the school, while the Junior classes will take part in a cycling workshop in the school grounds.

Ascain Training and Support are hosting a Bike Day for service users from HSE Ascain and The Willows, offering a safe space to rediscover cycling. During Bike Week, senior pupils from Frosses NS will cycle to our Centre for refreshments and a raffle. Community members will be invited to try out our adult trikes, with regular group participants joining in. Our long-distance fundraisers will also reunite for a 5km cycle and post-ride social gathering.

This event will take place on athletics track which will afford the participants an opportunity to try different bikes and trikes in a safe environment. Participants get to try many different types of bikes including electric bikes, and trikes, recumbent E-Trikes and Side by Side bikes as well as a range of adapted bikes.

Paralympian and pro cyclist Mitchell McLaughlin will visit the school to share his experiences from the 2024 Paris Paralympics and racing across Europe. He’ll speak to class groups, show his bikes and jerseys, and answer students’ questions in an inspiring, interactive afternoon about sport and motivation.
