Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann, Go Ahead Ireland, Luas (Tram) and Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail
from Friday 3 April through to Monday 6 April.

Note:

  • Easter Rising Commemorations in Dublin City Centre on Easter Sunday – impacting Bus and tram services;
  • Iarnród Éireann and Luas are carrying out line improvement works throughout the weekend.
    • Customers are advised to check times before travel for revised schedules or services
  • On Easter Monday 6 April, bus and Luas services will operate a Sunday Service.
  • Good Friday 3 April : Luas will run Saturday Operating Hours

    On Easter Monday 6 April, Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus will operate a Sunday Service.
    Diversions on Easter Sunday 2026 due to the Easter Rising Commemorations in Dublin City Centre.
  • Train: Iarnród Éireann – Irish Rail Iarnród Éireann reminds customers that a revised timetable will be in place this Easter weekend on all routes.  Impacts on rail services include the following: 
    • DART services between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire will be suspended
    • Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort – with bus transfer for from Connolly to Bray
    • Galway – Bus replacement / transfers for Portarlington to Galway, Heuston to Galway, Heuston to Westport and Limerick to Galway
    • Cork area services – bus transfer for Cork to Cobh/Midleton/Mallow and from Cork to Mallow for trains to/from Dublin and Tralee.
    • Limerick to Limerick Junction
    • Other routes – Easter Monday operates a Sunday service.
  • LUAS:
    • Good Friday 3 April : Luas will run Saturday Operating Hours and Frequency on both the Red and Green Lines.
    • Easter Monday (public holiday) 6 April: will operate on Sunday service hours.
    • Red Line: There will be no Luas service between Red Cow and Tallaght / Saggart from last tram on Friday 3 April until first tram Tuesday 7 April.
    • Green Line: Easter Sunday 5 April: Trams will not run between St. Stephen’s Green and Dominick from first tram until 16:15.

We wish to advise customers of the following Easter weekend service arrangements for Dublin Bus:

Good Friday 3 April 2026
A weekday service will be in operation, including a full Nitelink service.

Easter 4 Saturday April 2026
A Saturday service will be in operation, including a full Nitelink service.

Easter Sunday 5 April 2026
A Sunday service will be in operation, no Nitelink services will operate.

Upcoming diversions due to the Easter Rising Commemorations.

Easter Monday 6 April 2026
A Sunday service will be in operation, no Nitelink services will operate.

Dublin Bus has  24-hour services which are in operation seven days a week across fifteen routes.

Diversions

Diversions on Easter Sunday 2026 due to the Easter Rising Commemorations in Dublin City Centre.

  • Northbound Routes at O’Connell Bridge
    • Routes 1, 7/a, 11/b, 13, 16, 19, 38/a, 44, 122, E1, E2, F1, F2 and F3
    • Normal route to O’Connell Bridge, divert right via Eden Quay, Beresford Place, Gardiner Street, Parnell Street and back on to normal route.
    • Stops 279, 274, 278 and 281 on O’Connell Street will not be in use during this time, please proceed to stops 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 or 10 Parnell Square West for your nearest stop location.
  • Southbound Routes at O’Connell Bridge
    • Routes 1, 7/a, 11/b, 13, 16, 19, 38/a, 44, 122, E1, E2, F1, F2 and F3
    • Normal route to O’Connell Street, divert via Cathal Brugha Street, Marlborough Street, Rosie Hackett Bridge, Burgh Quay, D’Olier Street and back on to normal route.
    • Stops 277, 270, 6059 and 271 on O’Connell Street will not be in use during this time, please proceed to stops 261, 262, 263, 264 or 265 Parnell Square East for your nearest stop location.
  • Routes 33, 41, 41b and 41c
    • Towards Balbriggan / Swords Manor / Rolestown
      Normal route.
  • Towards Lower Abbey Street
    Normal route to O’Connell Street, divert via Cathal Brugha Street, Marlborough Street, Abbey Street and terminate.

Easter 2026 rail services

Including works affecting a number of routes

Iarnród Éireann reminds customers that a revised timetable will be in place this Easter weekend on all routes.

Customers are advised to check times before travel from Good Friday 3rd April to Easter Monday 6th April inclusive for revised schedules, at our journey planner or at the Iarnród Éireann app.  Intercity travel can also be booked at the journey planner or app, and is strongly advised, particularly at busiest times and during the times of major works.

  • Rail service arrangements – Good Friday 3rd April
    Revised times on many routes, including a Saturday schedule on DART and revised Saturday schedule on Commuter services. Check times for all routes at the journey planner or the Iarnród Éireann app.

Rail service arrangements – major works

Customers are asked to note in particular the following works taking place over the Easter weekend.

Connolly to Dun Laoghaire/Bray
  • Saturday 4th to Easter Monday 6th April inclusive, Connolly to Dun Laoghaire
    A series of works including overhead line renewal, platform works and retaining wall renewal will take place at various locations between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire.  As a result:
    • DART services between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire will be suspended. Leapcards used for rail travel are valid on all TFI services in the affected area, subject to capacity.
    • DART services will operate between Howth/Malahide and Connolly, and between Dun Laoghaire and Greystones.
    • Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort services will involve bus transfers between Connolly and Bray, to a revised schedule.
Galway to/from Dublin, Portalington, Limerick – and Dublin to Westport
  • Friday 3rd (evening) to Easter Monday 6th (morning) April inclusive, Portarlington to Galway
    A series of works including the continued construction of the new Ceannt Station in Galway and associated infrastructure, the expansion of Oranmore Station, and track and bridge renewal works at a number of locations will take place during these times.  As a result:
    • Dubin Heuston to Galway services will be a bus replacement for the full journey, to a revised schedule
    • Dublin Heuston to Westport will involve bus transfers between Heuston and Athlone, to a revised schedule
    • Limerick to Galway will involve bus transfers between Athenry and Galway, to a revised schedule
Cork area services
  • Cork area services, Saturday 4th to Easter Sunday 5th April inclusive
    Continuing resignalling and track laying works as part of the Cork Area Commuter Rail programme will take place on these dates.  As a result:
    • Cork Commuter services (Cork to Cobh/Midleton/Mallow) will involve bus replacements, to a revised schedule
    • Cork to Dublin Heuston and Cork to Tralee services will involve bus transfers between Cork and Mallow
Limerick to Limerick Junction

Limerick to Limerick Junction, Saturday 4th April (13:30hrs onwards)
Bus transfers will operate to facilitate track works.

Other Easter weekend revised times

Saturday 4th to Easter Monday 6th April

Revised times on all routes, please check times before travel at the journey planner or the TFI Live App.

On Easter Monday, this includes a Sunday service on Howth/Malahide to Connolly, and Dun Laoghaire to Bray/Greystones DART services, and other Commuter routes.

Good Friday 3 April

Luas will run Saturday Operating Hours and Frequency on both the Red and Green Lines.

Saturday 4 April

Luas will run normal Saturday Operating Hours and Frequency on both the Red and Green Lines.

There will be no Luas service between Red Cow and Tallaght / Saggart on the Luas Red Line.

Easter Sunday 5 April

  • Trams will run Sunday Operating Hours on both the Red and Green Lines.
  • There will be no Luas service between Red Cow and Tallaght / Saggart on the Luas Red Line.
  • There may be some delays to facilitate the Easter Sunday Parade at the GPO, subject to Gardaí instruction.
  • Green Line Service Info:
    • Trams will run Sunday Operating Hours (see below table for first and last tram times)
    • From first tram until 16:15, trams will run between Broombridge and Dominick, and between St. Stephen’s Green and Brides Glen only.
    • Trams will not run between St. Stephen’s Green and Dominick from first tram until 16:15.
    • The full Green Line will reopen at approx. 16:15.

Bank Holiday Easter Monday 6 April

  • Luas will run Sunday Operating Hours, with services beginning at 07:00 on both the Red and Green Lines.

Tuesday 7 April

  • Luas will run normal Operating Hours and Frequency from Tuesday 7 April.
Luas Red Line Temporary Partial Closure: Red Cow to Tallaght and Saggart due to Engineering Works
  • Also, engineering works will take place on the Luas Red Line tracks over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
  • There will be no Luas service between Red Cow and Tallaght / Saggart from last tram on Friday 3 April until first tram Tuesday 7 April.
  • A replacement bus service will serve the closed Luas stops between Red Cow and Tallaght / Saggart during these days.
