This accessibility statement applies to content published on the Driver Check (Android and iOS) mobile application. The NTA intends for the application to be used by as many users as possible (including assistive technology users) and we are working towards an accessible design that ensures this outcome, in accordance with European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.
We have recently engaged with our external accessibility partner who have carried out a full independent accessibility audit of the Driver Check application. This is to assess our conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG) AA standard. We are reviewing and implementing the findings of the audit. We have a roadmap in place to ensure compliance and achieve a high standard of accessibility.
The Driver check Android application is partially conformant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard and has some outstanding issues.

The NTA has appointed an Access Officer in accordance with the Section 26 of Disability Act 2005.
The Access Officer is responsible for, where practicable and appropriate, providing or arranging for assistance and guidance, to persons with disabilities accessing services.

Additionally, the NTA has appointed an Inquiry Officer under the Section 39 of Disability Act 2005,to investigate complaints made.

Escalation of a complaint
If you are not happy with the response then you can make a complaint to the Ombudsman under the Disability Act.
We are currently working towards fixing our non-compliant content and we will revise this Accessibility Statement once improvements have been made.
