From 1 March 2026, to use Free Travel you will need a valid in-date Free Travel Public Services Card (PSC).
The ‘Date of Expiry’ is displayed on the front of your Free Travel PSC.

The Free Travel Public Service Card is accepted on:

  • Bus Éireann
  • Dublin Bus
  • Go-Ahead Ireland
  • Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail
  • Luas
  • TFI Local Link
  • Kilkenny City Services (City Direct) and
  • Many commercial bus operators

The Free Travel Public Service Card is available under the Free Travel Scheme and is managed by the Department of Social Protection (DSP). It allows eligible individuals to travel free of charge on most public transport services across Ireland.
