A two-part beginner cycling challenge with South Tipperary Cycling Club’s, helping you build toward a 30km ride through fun, supportive group sessions. Starts May 11th at Duhill Community Centre.
Bike to School for Bike Week in Kiltormer Community for Bike Week
To encourage children to cycle safely from their homes to visit friends, clubs and school. To make the most of the Greenway which is close by our school.
Asking children to cycle every day to school including a "bling your bike" day. Local sports coach coming to school to organise cycling routes and courses around school yard and grounds. All classes to create a pedal power project as homework for the week - this could be a presentation, a piece of art, a piece of creative writing, a poster, a video - or anything that they would like to present. Prizes will be given for these presentations and for the best decorated bike - the prizes will relate to cycling eg helmets and bike accessories.
Students in the junior classes (2nd 3rd 4th) will cycle laps of the school yard, each student will aim to complete a kilometre daily.
Senior classes (5th & 6th) will use an exercise bike and the ZWift app to complete challenges. Students will be encouraged to cycle to school each day Mon - Fri during the week.
Between 12th and 16th May St. Michael's NS Westmeath will hold a 'New to Cycling (triathlon)' and a variety of bike related activities such as write a poem, bike art work, scoot or cycle to school, family cycle on wellbeing Wednesday, prize giving for great participation, send in photos of your spending time on your bike

Scoil Íde have the following events planned: *Time trials with the senior classes *A bike scavenger hunt. *scoot/cycle to school that week (have a score on the door- homework pass for the class with the most participants)
Weeklong cycle to school promotion along with some prize giving and small cycles.
The Green School Committee will present a PowerPoint on bike safety. In addition, the committee will track the number of children cycling or scooting to school each day, with the class that logs the most participants winning a special cycling trophy. "Design a Helmet" competition - Three winners will be chosen, one from the junior classes, one from the middle classes and one from the senior classes.

Grassroutes Bike Hire will run eight inclusive cycling classes during Bike Week 2025 for students from Little Angels and St Bernadette’s schools. Sessions include bike fitting, safety checks, and adapted cycling skills, promoting confidence, physical activity, and independence. All equipment is provided, making cycling accessible and enjoyable for all abilities.
Range of Events for Bike Week at Lawrencetown National School Galway
A school-wide Bike Week celebration at Tinryland National School Co. Carlow featuring a cycling competition, class workshops with a visiting instructor, and encouragement for pupils to cycle to school.
Royal Canal Greenway School Cycles are designed to encourage greater bike usage amongst secondary school students in a safe manner. These cycles also seek to promote the Royal Canal Greenway as an ideal cycling venue for participants.

National Bike to Work Day
Lifford NS plans to meet at the start of the cycle way at the town limit, encouraging parents to drop their children off there and join the walk or cycle to school. Children will cycle or scoot along the footpath to school. On arrival, parents will be offered refreshments, each class teacher will distribute a bell or reflector set to the children, and a road safety lesson will be delivered in class. This initiative promotes active travel, builds awareness of safe cycling habits, and encourages greater community involvement in the journey to school.
The Cycle Bus is to encourage pupils in local schools to cycle to school. The event for Bike Week will encourage maintenance of own bikes and safety awareness. reaching out to families will encourage families to cycle outside of school also and promote the social and health benefits of cycling. Two other local schools and the gardai will particiapate in thes event also so it reaches out into the wider community to get involved.

Inver NS is holding a special event to help children understand road safety while cycling. A local instructor will be invited to deliver a practical session on safe cycling. Pupils will also take part in a short cycle around the local area. An in-school art competition will promote creativity around the theme of bike safety, and relevant safety information will be shared with all students to reinforce key messages. This event aims to build cycling confidence, encourage safe habits, and celebrate Bike Week through both fun and educational activities.

Scoil Chlann Naofa will participate in a cycle. The children from 3rd – 6th classes along with teachers, parents and volunteers will cycle 6km, from the school, through the town and out the golf links road.
Leitrim Community Training Centre will take part in a guided cycle along the Blueway from Leitrim Village to Drumshanbo, identifying pollinator plants along the way.

Ascain Training and Support are hosting a Bike Day for service users from HSE Ascain and The Willows, offering a safe space to rediscover cycling. Many once enjoyed biking but stopped due to mental health struggles. This event promotes well-being and joy—last year, one attendee was inspired to buy a bike and now cycles daily.

As part of Bike week, the annual City centre cycle is a popular event that involves local schools accompanied by volunteers and teachers cycle through the streets of Galway for 3.5km.

Not a confident cyclist? This is the perfect chance to meet those who enjoy getting around by bike. A fun celebration of Cycling in the Park! Free lunch for the first 100 cyclists - Taking place on Wednesday 14th May from 12.30pm at Fitzgerald's Park, drop in over lunchtime for some free picnic treats, bike games, a Bike Doc as well as chats and company with other cyclists.
Free Lunch Cycle for Adults only - this 6km Picnic Cycle via Green Route to Bilberry and on to the Waterford Greenway takes place 14th May for Bike Week.

Fun Cycling and Art Activies for All Ages. No Booking Required
During Bike Week, senior pupils from Frosses NS will cycle to our Centre for refreshments and a raffle. Community members will be invited to try out our adult trikes, with regular group participants joining in. Our long-distance fundraisers will also reunite for a 5km cycle and post-ride social gathering.
On Wednesday 14th May - from 2.30pm - A fun and social easy cycle out to Blarney Castle, via quite back road and green way, on to the Blarney to Waterloo Greenway and back to Cork - meeting at Fitzgerald's Park, Cork City.
