To encourage how easy is it to bring and use your bike. Bring the fun back into cycling for our students. Fun relay obstacle courses on our astro pitch. Also we will encourage a cycle to school day and get students to showcase off their bikes and how to mind and maintain their bikes.
Students from Ursuline College will take part in a cycling and road safety skills session delivered by Green-Schools Travel in the nearby Finiskilin Park. A healthy snack will be provided following the activity. Closed Event

Our secondary school Royal Canal Greenway cycles take place right throughout bike week. School groups will get the opportunity to cycle along a scenic stretch of the Royal Canal Greenway in Longford. Each cycle will be guided by experienced cycling tutors. Safe cycling practice will be incorporated in to each cycle.
We delivered this programme to teach the children about the road safety through bike skills while cycling to school and the importance of wearing a helmet and checking your bike before cycling.

Meitheal will come into the school and do bike checks on all bikes and have the older children do a workshop during this time so they are able to look after their own bikes. Parents of children who cycle to school and wish to cycle to school will be invited to join also.
