Bus diversions due to Docklands 5k 2024 race

The 2024 race will take place on Thursday, July 11th, starting at 7:45pm.

The distance is 5k, run over a flat, fast loop in Dublin’s Docklands area.

Road closures and bus diversions will be in place – see below.

Entry is open to runners of all abilities either as individual participants or in teams of 3.  Team categories are Male only, Female only and Mixed.

  • The race starts on the South Docks near Lime Street which is very near to the Samuel Beckett Bridge.
  • That is almost opposite the Convention Centre.
  • From there you will head towards the City Centre all the way to the Matt Talbot Bridge which you will cross over to the North Quay.
  • From there you will run all the way down to the 3 Arena where you will loop back down the North Quay again towards the Matt Talbot Bridge.
  • There you will cross the Bridge again and back to the South Quay.
  • From there you will run back past the start line.
  • The finish line is approx. 750 metres beyond the start line and you will finish at Capital Dock on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay.
  • You are then just a small stroll away from the bag drop area in Capital Dock Square

Route 15

Towards Docklands
Normal route to Eden Quay, divert via Amiens Street, North Strand, Annesley Place, East Wall Road, East Road and back on to normal route.
Towards Foxborough
Normal route.

Routes 60, G1 and G2

Towards John Rogerson’s Quay / Spencer Dock
Normal route to Eden Quay, divert via Beresford Place, Matt Talbot Memorial Bridge, Moss Street, Shaw Street, Pearse Street and terminate.
Towards Red Cow Luas / Liffey Valley Shopping Centre
Depart Pearse Street, divert via Tara Street, and back on to normal route.

Route N4

Towards Point Village
Normal route to East Wall Road, divert via Sheriff Street Upper, Castleforbes Road and terminate.
Towards Blanchardstown Shopping Centre
Depart Castleforbes Road, divert via Sheriff Street, East Road and back on to normal route.
