Grandparents and Me – Free Event. Cycle the
Limerick Greenway with your grandchildren and enjoy
a treat afterwards at Platform 22. Participants will
pick up a bike from Locomotion Bike Rental at the
Barnagh Greenway Hub.   Places Limited so pre-booking
is essential. Call 085-2552890 to book your space.

Saturday 13th May Messages Movement – Guided Cycle Ride

Join qualified ride leaders at Templeglantine Greenway Car
Park on 13 May 2023 at 10am and cycle along the the
Greenway to the Feale Crafters Market at Abbeyfeale.
The route is approximately 10km each way, a generally
flat traffic-free route along the Greenway, with the
last 1km on the public road into the town square. The
cycle will be at leisurely pace, heads up taking in
the scenery, nobody gets left behind. This is a social
ride aimed at non-competitive leisure cyclists, minimum
18 years old. Limited Spaces – Book your FREE place on
Eventbrite.

Saturday 13th May Free Bike Clinic 

A Bike Mechanic will be available at various Parks
around Limerick during Bike Week. Cyclists can
bring along their bike for a free bike check and
minor fixes / repairs.

Sunday 14th May Family Bike Parade and Fun Day

Limerick City and County Council and
Limerick Sports Partnership invite you to a Family
Bike Parade and Fun Day to celebrate National Bike
Week. The event will take place on Sunday 14th May
2023 at Arthurs Quay Park. The event will include a
cycle along a circular city centre route, starting
and ending at Arthurs Quay Park. Full Details on

Sunday 14th May Bike Clinic

Free pop-up bike clinic in Murroe to celebrate
Bike Week 2023. Members of Evolution Cycles will be on
hand to offer basic maintenance checks and repairs to
the public free of  charge. The first 10 people
attending will be given a complimentary puncture
repair kit.

Hub and they will get the opportunity to take the
bike for a cycle on the limerick Greenway. On return
each participant will receive a free coffee/tea.

Saturday 20th May Greenway History Tour – Abbeyfeale
Community Council will work in association with
Locomotion Bike Rental to encourage individuals
of all ages to go on a combined Group Cycle and
History Tour along a section of the Limerick Greenway.
Locomotion Bike Rental will provide accompanying
Technical Support for this Group and the cycle will
last approximately 1 – 2 hours. Places Limited so

The Green/Greenwood Loop (6kms,
45 mins, moderate) is a good
introduction to the trails.

The Brown/Mountrussell Loop (17kms,
2 hours, difficult) is some technical
features on it with more climbing
and descending.

The White/Garrane Loop (35kms,
4 hours, difficult) is a lot
more challenging in terms of
distance with sections of tight
turns, steep descents and
features such as small rock
steps, exposed roots and
elevated timber boardwalks.

The Blue/Streamhill Loop (41km,
5 hrs, severe) is challenging
in terms of distance but will
take you to the remoter parts
of the forest.

Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail

The Red/Castlepook Loop (51km,
4-6 hours, severe) that is the
ultimate loop of the Ballyhoura
trails, being the longest and
most demanding. It goes right to
the southern fringes of the
forest and presents you with
the biggest climbs and most
rewarding descents.
