From Sunday next, August 23rd bus stops 518 (Northbound – Nottingham Street, North Strand) and 617 (Southbound – North Strand Road, North Strand) will be served by the 14 bus route.

Stops 518 and 617 were among stops that were removed during the construction of the Clontarf to City Centre Active Travel Scheme. They were later reinstated to be served by the 130 route which terminates in Talbot St and from Sunday they will also be served by the 14

dundrum to city centre (Dublin bus route 14).

Bus Átha Cliath – Dublin Bus 14 route

The 14 runs between Ardlea Rd in Beaumont through the city centre to Dundrum Luas on the southside. It operates at 12-minute frequency or better throughout most of the day.

It stops on Beaumont Road, just at the main entrance to the hospital, serving Collins Avenue and Donnycarney before turning onto the Malahide Rd. From there it runs through Fairview and North Strand into the city centre. It runs along Amiens St and along the quays, crossing the Liffey at O’Connell Bridge. It proceeds to the southside via College Green and South Great George’s Street.

Improved connectivity for local communities

The addition of these two new stops will significantly enhance connectivity for people living near them in North Strand. It will restore a cross-city link for that community, connecting to retail and hospitality in both the O’Connell St and Grafton St areas.

Connecting with other transport services

In addition, the 14 allows for easy interchange with rail and Luas services at Connolly along with interregional bus services at Busaras, and city bus services at places like O’Connell Bridge and College Green.
