TFI Local Link Waterford is launching a new bus service, which will improve connectivity between Youghal and Dungarvan, from Monday 11th of September 2023.
This new route is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.
Route 357 will operate six daily return services a day, seven days a week. The new route will provide late evening and peak-time services for commuters and improved connectivity to Davitt’s Quay.
The route from Youghal to Dungarvan will also offer enhanced connectivity to villages and areas such as Kinsalebeg, Clashmore, Aglish, Villierstown and Dungarvan. The service will also improve connectivity to colleges in the area, regional bus services and the wider TFI Network.
Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Waterford General Manager James O’ Donoghue, said “We are delighted to announce the commencement of our new 357 service from Youghal to Dungarvan.
“This is the latest in a series of service enhancements under the Connecting Ireland programme which open up opportunities not only for local residents to make connections for employment, health, education and recreational purposes, but also allows visitors to access the many areas of historic interest and natural beauty along the River Blackwater from Clashmore to Villierstown.
“This is also the first time that a regular bus service will now be available to residents in the areas served to connect to and beyond Youghal and Dungarvan, as well as allowing people to choose to travel using a more sustainable form of transport”.
