What’s Included?

The TFI 90 Minute Fare is applicable to most journeys in the Dublin area, whether you’re using multiple services or taking a single trip. Eligible services:

  • Dublin Bus (except Express and Nitelink services, which cost €2.40 for adults or €1.20 for Students and Young Adults)
  • Go-Ahead Ireland (Dublin City Bus network)
  • Luas (Red & Green lines)
  • DART & Commuter Rail Zone 1.

How TFI 90 Works

  • Tap-on with your Leap Card to start your 90 minutes
  • Tap-on before each bus journey
  • Tap-on and tap-off for DART, commuter train, and Luas journeys
  • You can check your remaining time using the Leap Top Up App.

No. The TFI 90 Minute Fare is deducted at the start of your first journey. Any additional journeys within 90 minutes are free, as long as you tap your Leap Card each time.

Yes. You must tap-on for your second and subsequent journeys within 90 minutes of your first tap-on to qualify.

Yes. The fare applies to eligible services within Dublin Zone 1.If Your Dublin City Bus Crosses into Zone 2, both the TFI 90-minute fare and daily/weekly caps apply. It Includes routes: 33, 33a, 33x, 65, 65a, L1, L2, L3, X1, X2.

Note: Dublin Commuter Bus services (Bus Éireann & Go-Ahead Ireland) are not eligible for the TFI 90-minute fare or capping.

The Short Fare applies to single journeys of approximately 2–3 km. Variations occur due to:

  • Stop locations relative to fare boundaries
  • Route directions using different streets
  • The need for consistent fare application

You’ll still be charged the TFI 90 Minute Fare. Any journey within 90 minutes of the first tap-on will be free.

You must tap-on before boarding and tap-off after exiting Luas to:

  • Avoid a €100 Standard Fare Notice
  • Ensure your journey is valid
  • Get the best fare value

You’ll be charged the maximum fare, which is the TFI 90 Minute Fare.
