In 2026 the Skerries Triathlon event will feature:

Skerries Adult Sprint triathlon
Adult and Junior Aquabike National Championships
Youth races (7 – 17 years of age)

750m Swim course

Skerries Triathlon 2026 swim course 750m

Bike Course – 20km

The bike course is a two loop course on CLOSED ROADS with very smooth road surfaces in almost every part.
The first 2km is a little technical as you leave Skerries, but then you are on the open road, hugging the coastline as you head towards Balbriggan.

Run Course – 5km

The 5km run is along a ‘pancake’ flat 5km along the coastline of Skerries

A clear, sheltered 750 metre swim beach entry, exit at ‘The Springers’
A fast 20km cycle on closed roads hugging the coastline of Skerries
A pancake flat 5km

Transport Options

Diversions will be in place from approximately 08:00 – 12:00:

Route 33 (operated by Dublin Bus)

Dublin Bus – Diversions due to Skerries Triathlon

Towards Balbriggan

Normal route to Holmpatrick then diverts via Church Street, New Street to Dublin Road normal route to Barnageeragh Road
then divert to continue straight to roundabout at Barnageeragh Road and turn to inbound direction and terminate at Stop 3566.

Towards Abbey Street

Depart Stop 3566 to Dublin Road
then divert to New Street, Church Street to Holmpatrick and
normal route.
