The National Transport Authority (NTA), in partnership with Bus Éireann, has announced further improvements to Route 424 serving Galway City, Bearna, An Spidéal and An Cheathrú Rua, effective from 1 November.
The additional services are being introduced in response to increasing passenger demand and capacity pressures on the route, particularly at peak times.
Working closely with Bus Éireann, the NTA is introducing additional morning and evening services to provide increased capacity and improved travel options for passengers.
The improvements build on additional services introduced on Route 424 on 27 September, including an extra morning service from An Spidéal to Galway and an extra evening service from Galway to An Spidéal.
Commenting on the improvements, John Nott, Head of Public Transport Services Planning at the National Transport Authority, said:
“We are aware of the capacity pressures experienced by passengers on Route 424 and we believe that these improvements will address at least some of them. The additional services will provide greater capacity particularly at peak times and improve the public transport offering along the route.”
Full timetable details will be available on the Transport for Ireland and Bus Éireann websites ahead of the changes taking effect on 1 November.
