Route 278 enhanced service

Route 278 will operate seven daily return services Monday to Sunday. The new route will offer peak-time and evening services for commuters and will provide an additional evening service on Friday and Saturday.

It will improve connectivity to MTU North & South campuses, University Hospital Kerry and regional bus and rail services, as well as providing a connection to Spa village.

Route 278 is the second of two routes, launched in a planned phased rollout this summer of new TFI Local Link Kerry bus services to enhance connectivity to Tralee. The first route is route 273 which connects Cé Bhréanainn, Castlegregory and Tralee, with services starting on Monday the 24th of June.

Improved connectivity to Tralee from Fenit and Spa

Speaking ahead of the launch, TFI Local Link Kerry General Manager, Alan O’Connell, said:

Our new route 278 connecting Fenit and Spa with Tralee marks a significant advancement for the community, which up to now, has never had a public transport service seven days a week.

“The service will give students attending the MTU & Kerry College campuses the option to use frequent and reliable public transport.

“It will also mean more local people and visitors will now be able to take the Local Link bus to enjoy the beach, harbour and other attractions which our area has to offer.”
