For the 8th year running Transport for Ireland (TFI) in partnership with the Immigrant Council of Ireland (ICI), public transport operators and Dublin City Council (DCC) have launched its annual anti-racism campaign to promote the message that public transport is for everyone.

This years ‘United Against Racism’ campaign which gets underway today celebrates the growing diversity within Ireland’s public transport services and aims to ensure people of all backgrounds, cultures and beliefs are treated with the respect they deserve. In addition to social media the campaign creative will be visible on-board public transport vehicles, at stop and in station across the TFI public transport network.

Operators involved include Bus Éireann, Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland, Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, Luas, TFI Local Link and Taxi.

According to the National Transport Authority Chief Executive Officer Anne Graham:

“The key message is that everyone is welcome on public transport and that we are united against racism.

By standing together with transport workers and operators, we can celebrate the growing diversity within Ireland’s public transport services and ensure people of all backgrounds are treated with the respect they deserve.

Transport for Ireland is proud to be working with the Immigrant Council of Ireland in rolling out this important campaign. Racism has no place on public transport. I would encourage commuters to show their support by sharing this message and artwork on social.”

By standing together with transport workers and operators, we are celebrating the growing diversity within Ireland’s public transport services and helping ensure people of all backgrounds, cultures and beliefs are treated with the respect they deserve.

As part of the 2020 campaign, which runs for two weeks, we have partnered with ‘Humans of Dublin’ to spotlight people of diverse backgrounds who are active in promoting inclusivity and tolerance within Ireland. Five participants have been chosen and photographed by ‘Humans of Dublin’ on public transport. Each day over the coming week one of their portraits and stories will be posted on their Instagram account @humansofdub
