The National Transport Authority (NTA), under its Transport for Ireland (TFI) brand, in partnership with IMMA, is pleased to announce Art in Motion: Roots and Routes, a new public art project designed to bring creativity into everyday life across Dublin.

This collaboration will see a specially commissioned artwork applied to one of TFI’s buses, transforming the vehicle into a moving canvas. As the bus travels through the city, the artwork will become part of the daily journeys of thousands of people, offering moments of visual interest and reflection within the familiar rhythm of public transport.

Roots and Routes

Art in Motion: Roots and Routes reflects a shared ambition between TFI and IMMA to celebrate creativity within the everyday movement of the city. By integrating contemporary art into the public transport network, the project highlights the role of the TFI Network in connecting communities, while introducing a visual experience that travels through Dublin alongside its passengers.

Highlighting collaboration between cultural institutions and transport bodies

This initiative also highlights the potential of collaboration between cultural institutions and transport bodies. By working together, TFI and IMMA aim to reimagine how public infrastructure can support cultural experiences and enhance the everyday environment.

Further details on the artwork and the artist involved will be shared as the project develops.

Art in Motion: Roots and Routes marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership, with a shared commitment to integrating art into public life and enriching the journeys of people across the city.
