On the 19th of October 2025, Phase 7 F-spine of the BusConnects Network Redesign commenced.
Service changes to Routes 23, 24 and 80 will take effect on 8 February 2026
Service changes to Routes 23, 24 and 80 will take effect on 8 February 2026, following realignments first announced in late 2025. These updates are designed to improve reliability and respond to customer feedback.
From this date, Routes 23 and 24 will no longer serve High Street or Christ Church. Instead, both routes will operate via the city quays, cross the River Liffey at O’Connell Bridge, and continue around Trinity College to Merrion Square. This change aims to address ongoing reliability issues affecting passengers travelling to and from Finglas.
Route 80 will also move to a temporary revised alignment from 8 February 2026. It will operate via the inner quays, O’Connell Bridge and College Green. This temporary change is intended to ease congestion and support more reliable service while additional improvements are planned for a later date.
Together, these measures reflect our continued focus on monitoring performance, responding to feedback and improving public transport across the network.

The new BusConnects network is designed to provide high-frequency routes between major destinations across the city.
For most passengers,
while route numbers are new, there are no changes to the number of bus routes needed to make their journey.
For some trips, however, an interchange is required. The TFI 90-Minute Fare applies to most Phase 7 interchange journeys, see above for more.
The new network also creates new direct links.
For each discontinued bus route, this section shows the alternative service in the new network.
This is a general guide – please use the TFI Journey Planner / TFI Live App for more detailed journey information. The Journey Planner also has information on stop numbers, frequencies and timetables.
