Carlow Regional Youth Services- Bike Fest 2026

Pop-up bike repair and maintenance workshops alongside cycling challenges & workshops will be held to promote bike safety for children and teenagers in various local parks around Carlow town and environs (venues include Carlow Town Park, Carlow Skate Park, Hanover Park and The Vault Youth Project). All activities will be delivered by experienced facilitators and are non-competitive in nature, focusing on skills, safety and bike handling rather than speed or stunts. These cycling challenges will consist of a basic obstacle course, balance board games as well as road safety quizzes. Basic safety checks will be carried out on bikes prior to participation, helmets will be required, and first-aid provision will be available on site. Spot prizes such as cycling safety gear and accessories will be awarded to participants. A qualified and experienced bike repair tutor will be present at each event to deliver maintenance guidance, demonstrate safe repair techniques, and carry out minor repairs and safety checks on participants’ bicycles.
