Game, Set, Cycle! – Wheels, Rackets & Family Fun

May 9 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Game, Set, Cycle! is a fun, family‑friendly outdoor event designed to celebrate active travel, cycling confidence, and inclusive physical activity. The event combines a short community cycle, beginner‑friendly racket‑sport taster sessions, and a relaxed family activity zone suitable for all ages and abilities.

The event begins with a 3–5 km guided cycle, following a safe, low‑traffic route starting from Abbeyleix Vitality hub in Fr. Breen Park, suitable for children, new cyclists, and families riding together. Trained leaders will support the group, ensuring a comfortable pace and plenty of encouragement for less experienced riders.

After the cycle, participants can enjoy **a tennis taster sessions**, led by volunteers and coaches who will introduce basic skills in a fun, informal way. Alongside this, a family activity area within the park will offer balance‑bike play, mini‑games, and opportunities for younger children to get involved even if they’re not yet confident cyclists.
