Mayo Autism Camp Wheels for All Day

May 11 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

“Mayo Autism Camp ‘Wheels for All’ Day at Manulla FC
1. Inclusive Cycling Zones
To cater to all abilities, the grounds will be divided into specific “”Experience Zones””:
• The Main Loop: A safe, flat circuit around the Manulla FC pitches for confident riders.
• The Balance Zone: A dedicated area for younger children or those on balance bikes to practice without faster cyclists passing by.
• The “”Try-a-Trike”” Station: Providing adaptive bikes or trikes for children who require more stability.
2. Activity Stations
• Obstacle Course: Using soft cones and pool noodles to create a “”slalom”” that helps with steering and focus.
• Slow Race: A favourite from previous years—the winner is the last person to cross the finish line without putting their feet down!
• Bike Bling Station: A creative corner where kids can decorate their helmets or handlebars with streamers, stickers, and cards for their spokes.
3. Safety & Support
• Basic Maintenance: A “”Bike Doctor”” stand to help with pumping tires, oiling chains, and adjusting seat heights.
• Helmet Checks: Ensuring every participant has a properly fitted helmet before they hit the track.
• The “”Chill-Out”” Zone: A quiet area (The Cubbie) away from the main activity with beanbags and sensory toys if a child needs a break from the stimulation.
4. Refreshments & Awards
• The Pit Stop: Healthy snacks, fruit, and water for all participants.
• Certificates of Achievement: Every child receives a “”Mayo Autism Camp Bike Week 2026″” certificate to celebrate their participation and a medal.
• The Swap Shop: A designated area where parents can donate outgrown bikes, helmets, or trikes and pick up “”new-to-them”” gear.
• The “”Golden Bell”” Photo Op: A designated spot for families to take a photo with their bikes to enter a competition.”
